The Strategy & Corporate Finance Insights team is McKinsey’s center of excellence in advanced analytics for Strategy and Corporate Finance. Its purpose is to empower teams with advanced, yet easy-to-use, analytical capabilities that can generate superior insights and transform client conversations. To this end, the Strategy & Corporate Finance practice, in conjunction with the McKinsey Global Institute, has assembled one of the world’s most sophisticated groups of experts, sets of databases, and analytical techniques. The Strategy & Corporate Finance practice also publishes Valuation: Measuring and Managing the Value of Companies. Valuation is widely used as a reference in corporate finance and valuation around the globe, and was recently released in its 7th edition. McKinsey & Company is a global management consulting firm that advises top management of Fortune 500 and other leading companies and institutions as well as governments and nonprofit organizations on issues of strategy, organization, technology, and operations. What You’ll Do The role provides opportunities for strong research request management and analysis in the S&CF domain, serve as a point of contact for S&CF research requests , articulate, scope, and prioritize research needs and identify and gather relevant information using a broad spectrum of appropriate sources balancing quality, availability, timeliness, and cost factors. You will need to organize, analyze, and synthesize facts into targeted, McKinsey formatted end products. These end products can be in the form of single exhibits, written summaries, financial models, basic fact packs, and spreadsheets, coordinate request handling and dispatching with the appropriate colleagues globally. Your Background ■ Graduation in finance with understanding of financial and general business concepts. Additional knowledge of programming tools (R, python etc.), understanding of statistics / analytics will be preferred ■ 2 years of relevant working experience ■ Creative thinking and excellent problem solving capabilities. ■ Strong work ethic, comfortable with handling multiple tasks, reprioritizing on the fly, able to network with the practice and knowledge community to deliver the best answers for client questions ■ Interest in the corporate finance and strategy knowledge domains with intermediate content knowledge ■ Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively at all levels of a large international organization ■ Energetic, cooperative and pleasant personality.
